Donald Trump threatens Zohran Mamdani, saying he’ll withhold funding for the entire city of New York if Mamdani doesn’t do “the right thing.”
In this instance, it appears the “right thing” means “kiss the ring and do as you’re told.” Trump couldn’t stand to have another politician doing things that are popular with the American people.
He doesn’t do anything that’s popular, but he says he will and for Trump’s supporters, that’s enough. He’s all about marketing a false reality and, unfortunately, his followers are choosing to live in that reality.
He dictates what is true and real, then the Right-wing media infrastructure repeats it. That’s enough to get his supporters to believe everything he says is true and real.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world is living in the actual reality where facts exist and lies are lies. I’ve often said that once Donald Trump is gone, there are millions of Americans that will need some form of deprogramming therapy.
A woman who was part of MAGA on January 6th and later freed herself from the group called it a “cult,” saying Trump “brainsashed” her and everyone else who’s still in the MAGA movement.
It’s not all on Trump, though. He couldn’t pull it off if Conservative media was reporting the truth about what’s happening in government.
In a segment attacking Zohran Mandani, a graphic appeared on the screen next to the host with the title: “Mamdani’s Socialist Agenda.”
As the host spoke about the dangers of Mamdani becoming mayor, he read off the list of items on the “Socialist Agenda” in a negative tone of voice: “Free buses, $30 minimum wage, baskets of baby supplies to all newborns, and free childcare.”
I pity the people who are brainwashed into thinking any of those policies are bad. They like to demonize the “free” items as giveaways, because the viewers may not be thinking critically and remember that the people living in the city pay taxes. How their tax money is spent is what’s being discussed. Nothing is FREE and the government isn’t paying for any of it. The people who benefit from policies have already paid for them.
We’ve become so accustomed to the federal government using our tax dollars for anything but our wants/needs or our infrastructure. They like to spend our money on things that benefit them, their donors, or the rich. Anything that will benefit the average person is demonized as “Socialism” or “Communism.”
They have successfully fooled millions of people into fighting against their own best interests. It’s amazing, but sad.

Donald Trump Threatens Zohran Mamdani
Donald Trump is definitely authoritarian, but it’s hard to tell if Trump is being a fascist or if it’s just his usual mob boss behavior we’ve been seeing for decades.
Trump lost it with an alarming intimidation scheme. In an attempt to force the Democratic candidate for New York City Mayor to fall in line, he threatened to withhold critical funding from the entire city during an interview on Fox News.
“Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to cut New York City off from federal funds if favored mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, “doesn’t behave himself” should he be elected.
Mamdani, meanwhile, denied that he was – as the president said – a communist. But he reaffirmed his commitment to raise taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers while saying: “I don’t think that we should have billionaires.”
In an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Trump argued that a Mamdani victory was “inconceivable” because he perceived the candidate to be “a pure communist”.
He added: “Let’s say this – if he does get in, I’m going to be president, and he’s going to have to do the right thing, or they’re not getting any money. He’s got to do the right thing or they’re not getting any money.””
