Strikes on Iran: Israel launched strikes against Iran early Friday, targeting the nuclear program and its long-range missile capabilities, an Israeli military official said. “This is not a one-day attack,” an Israeli military source told CNN.
Dozens of targets: The strikes were a “preemptive, precise, combined offensive” that included “dozens of targets” across Iran, the Israeli military official said.
US position: There was no US involvement or US assistance in the strikes, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said. “Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region,” he said in a statement.
I hope none of our politicians are rushing to go save Israel. Netanyahu chose to do this in defiance of Trump’s wishes not to attack with talks planned between Iran and the U.S. again on Sunday. If we rush to their aid after this, we are sending the wrong message. Netanyahu believes (as do I at this point), that the U.S. will back them no matter what they do.
When will we stop giving all of our money and the lives of our service members to an “ally” that consistently drags us into conflicts?
